OK I'm feeling a little weird, the house is kid free!!! I had a extension client this afternoon, and a friend offered to have the kids over to her house. I finished a little early, walked her to the door, and bam pure silence! I'm telling you this doesn't happen often! So I'm going to pop a little pop corn, watch a quick Netflicks, then go get the kids. But wanted to share some before and afters, her hair turned out awesome!!

What they look like going in
Amazing!!! If I do say so myself!!
 completely gorgeous
She was soo excited about them she was jumping up and down, I love that I can make someone feel that good about themselves!
OK time to get my relaxing on! Shirley

What's going on??

God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. —Romans 5:8
I woke with a heavy heart this morning, over what is happening in our great Nation, and around the world. Many of you reading my blog may not agree with my beliefs, but that wont stop me from expressing my opinions.
I wake early in the morning, to read the bible, read the news, a little alone time. But wow this mornings headlines really got me. Here are some of the headlines

11-year-old played dead to survive Syria massacre, (When the gunmen began to slaughter his family, 11-year-old Ali el-Sayed says he fell to the floor of his home, soaking his clothes with his brother's blood to fool the killers into thinking he was already dead.)

House debates bill to ban sex-selective abortions, (Though sex-selective abortions are typically thought of as a problem in countries like China, bill author Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz., said Democrats and Republicans in the House agree that sex-selection abortions are occurring in the United States.)

Pennsylvania father abandons 16-year-old daughter over bad grade at school, (Tuan Huynh, 47, of Montgomery County, dropped his 16-year-old daughter off near Cheltenham Square Mall and told her she could not come home, Fox affiliate WTXF-TV reported. He told the teenager she no longer met her parents' expectations because she had received a bad grade on a calculus test, according to the station.)

The Egyptian-born cab driver suspected in the 2008 "honor killing" of his two daughters (in Texas because they were dating non-Muslim boys may be working at his old trade in New York, according to a private investigator who has tracked him.)

Just a few, wow now I remember why I stopped reading the paper for over two years, it's just tooo much! I get caught up in my world, then I peek out and I hate what I see! Imagine how God feels, he created us, and look what monsters some can turn into. Sorry to be negative this morning, but life, like blog's isn't always perfect, real horrible things are taking place out there! These headlines made me stop and really pray for our world, all the hurting, pain, people need to be shown God's love, what a difference His love can bring into a hurting world. Statistics show a child that comes from a loving, nurturing home fairs much better in life, and those who didn't, can receive God's love and do just as well! Time to wake the house kids are sleeping in, they are super ready for summer to start, they are doing the count down!! Shirley

Moving tips

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. Psalms 14:1-2

This picture has nothing to do with today's post, but couldn't resist she is such a ham! She said, "Mom this is how movie stars dress when they are hiding from paparazzi!"

Since I've been married I've moved 9 times in 16 years! Only once did we hire movers, they worked for 10 hours, lifting the heavy stuff, I still did the packing. Every single time we vow, never again! Kinda like child birth, but then you soon forget the pain... I'm amazed with the amount of junk we accumulate. I get such a high, getting rid of things that are not useful, giving furniture to family/friends, throwing away junk! I advise everyone, to pretend like your moving at least once a year, completely removing items from a room, cleaning the floors, dusting everything, paint, spruce things up, to keep your home clutter free, and just clean! I always pride myself with how "clean" I think I am, but moving sheds a huge spotlight on the clutter! Gross!! I'm determined to try to live with only what we use, need, and only a few wants! This move has taught me we truly only need, shelter, food, clothes, a few books, toiletries, little else! OK stepping off my soapbox, I wanted to share a few moving tips, I've learned along the way...

  1. Paper work first, at least a month in advance, like filling out a change of address, school registration paper work, (before all important documents are packed up)
  2. Call all utility companies to set turn off/on dates
  3. Fill out online DMV change of address
  4. Start informing accounts of new address, in case some don't change over with address change.
  5. Find new doctors, in your new area online, or ask around
  6. Look at new city's website, to get acquainted with attractions
  7. Fill out library card online
  8. Close up any accounts in your local area
  9. A couple weeks out order your Uhaul
  10. Check Craiglist daily for moving boxes, usually free, but always first come first serve, John would check daily with Von's, for Apple boxes, these make great moving boxes, no taper required!
  11. Start major purging, list stuff on Craiglist, take unused clothes to Goodwill, We ordered a dumpster, and believe it or not it was filled to the rim! (Not proud of this)
  12. If your lucky to get into the new place before hand, bring cleaning supplies to spruce it up, cupboards, windows, dust, it's so nice to have everything clean, before all your stuff arrives!
  13. I went online to map out my nearest grocery store, favorite shops, pedicure shop:).... You know the important stuff!
If you have the luxury of moving slowly, I advice only leaving the essentials, right now all we have in our home is mattress's, washer/dryer, a couch we are giving away (need something to sit on), a few clothes, most are already hanging in the new house, computer/printer, ours is on a super small coffee table, I'm sitting on a folding chair, a few important file's, that's it! Hope this helps if you have a move in the near future?? Blessings Shirley
Oh it's not normal for kids to have their dinner in the jacuzzi???? It is when you don't have a dinning table anymore!
Apple boxes
These are really magic, removing scuffs on the walls from furniture bumping into them!
We've bought two boxes and are almost through them, I poke a hole in the bottom, and pull clothes on hangers through, then all you have to do is hang!

Moving Weekend

Avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. —2 Timothy 2:23

Just got home, well to our home in Camarillo,  kinda don't know where to call home these day's! Remember how I mentioned that our first Uhaul load was surprisingly easy??
Well, I now understand why! The first load was all our big, nice furniture, this weekend's load was medium sized, to small nick knacks! Not fun, tedious, hard work! Now all that's left is small items, All our mattress's, a few potted plant's. Wow soo much detail in moving a family of 6! Our last moves were in the same county, so fairly easy.. San Diego is about 2 hours away, making a big difference! Phone, Internet, utilities are not covered by our usual companies, So making times to meet the different agencies is challenging, while we are still here. We are lucky to be flanked on both sides with super friendly/helpful neighbors, they have offered to meet the workers at the house while we are away.  My parents/Jim, and us, all went down Friday, I want to say a huge thanks to every one that helped with our move, we couldn't have done it without you! Thanks
We got spoiled Luke came to visit, two days in a row!! He loved all the attention he received from Papa/Grandma, auntie, and uncles Jim /John, as well as the every 5 minute mauling s by his cousins:)
Jim and Luke,
 The cutest
First time riding on daddies shoulders!
These two love their new house, the whole weekend, they were doing their "own" thing, dress-up, picking flowers, visiting neighbors.
Our sweet neighbor brought over these amazing flowers

Jim's first time seeing Luke, he was smitten!
 Lil John with his cousin
 Watermelon eating contest!
Me and my bro's love them beyond measure

 Momma and me
 Coco with Uncle
 Family shot

Time to squeeze in a workout, then unpack, and try to make sense of an empty house! Shirley

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. —Psalm 32:1
Good morning, my family's been full of surprises lately! Last week Jim surprised my sisters in Washington, he drove 12 hours, for only two days to spend with Jenny and Rachel. They both had no idea he was coming, Jenny was sitting at Starbucks, people watching when Jim came up behind her, he asked if he could pull up a chair, Jenny being single, was thrilled that a handsome guy was asking to sit by her, she then turned around to see her brother! She was thrilled, next... time to surprise Rachel, she finished up work, and was meeting Jenny, she came in Starbucks in a hurry, Jim came up behind her, grabbing her, she let out a scream, turned to see Jim!!
Jim flew this time, to visit us! I can't tell you how excited the kids get over uncle, the little girls were busy all after noon, making banners, That read Welcome, Uncle, we love you!!

and I had a surprise of my own, my folks were in near by, they stopped in late last night, Jim's still sleeping he doesn't even know their here yet, then on to San Diego this morning, Johnny and Rachel will be next on the surprise list! Keep you posted, Shirley
A few of you have asked for pictures of the new house here you go!!

I'll post some more Monday! Blessings

You are His

Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. —Isaiah 43:1

Recently I had a friend who had turned away from God for soo long, due to very bad examples of "Christians." People who were supposed to protect her, only caused great harm to her.  So in her adult life she turned her back on God, as so many people do. You hear it all the time, "Those Christian hypocrites, they say they are Christian, but look at them, they are filthy." And rightly so, but, we fail to remember that God gave humans the power of choice to choose good or evil. And we can have a personal relationship with God, not "man" in between, we have direct access to our Creator. He is your God! So very recently she called with some issues and we both prayed well those issue miraculously went away, she was shocked that God heard her.  All we have to do is knock and the door will be opened, or ask and He will answer. I felt inspired at 5:00 A.M. to tell you all this, I hope it speaks to someone out there in Blog land, that no matter who, or what happened to you in your life God doesn't change He is still all loving, all caring, and the best thing is you have every right to him as anyone else!

Last night was Sadie's Open House at school. She soaked it up big time, she literally could barley contain herself with joy!

I know it's a terrible picture but to give an idea of how this girl was acting!
 Saide and her BFF
At the end of the speech by the principle they showed a slide show, well this part had John and I cracking up, Sadie is going to be one of those loud girls during assemblies, saying, "Oh, wow, cool, or calling out a friends name," she just blurted out when she saw a friend or herself on the screen, and laughed super loud, I kinda didn't know wether too "shh" her, I decided to let her be who she is! then standing behind her was Coco, shaking her little bootie to the music, soo funny these two are characters!
 Sadie's class
 Sage and her BFF

 Coco, having fun
Grace, Sadie and Coco, are more like sisters, than friends, they looovvvee hanging with their "big" friend Grace!
John and I watching our girls play
Sage was a little rusty on the bar's, she had us cracking up, this tall girl taller than me (I know not hard) anyway she was spinning around, we prayed she wouldn't hit her head!
Awe nice quiet house, that is going to change super quick I hear some rustling upstairs, time to go, Be blessed today, Shirley

Moving Day

Rest in the Lord. —Psalm 37:7

Friday we picked up the Uhaul, and got busy! John and Little John loaded and loaded, till the biggest truck Uhaul offers was slammed packed. John is part "Super" I'm not kidding, he can lift anything, he came down the stairs with a couch on his back. I'm so blessed to have him, it makes my life so much easier. We couldn't get over how much Little John helped out, from morning till evening, he worked right along his dad. John was beaming with pride, by the end of the weekend, Little John never complained, just worked, when he was a baby I'd always think wow one day he will be able to carry me, he'll tower over me, well that day has come! Bittersweet.....
Little girls riding shot gun with dad all the way to Sand Diego
My bro Johnny came with Rachel and Luke to help, I was thrilled to have them there! John's aunt and cousin came over as well, I kept hugging them all, thanking them, I know we all are going to love having family around!
Yes this post is suppose to be all about the move, but once again Luke stole the show!
Can a family get any cuter???
These girls were pretty ga ga, over their cousin. Sadie gets soo thrilled to hold him, she says OK mom give me my baby!

 Already playing with the girls
Rachel, so sweet, gentle, I love seeing Johnny and her parenting.
After a long day we ordered pizzas, Our aunt Susan brought over Kana, the kids second cousin, she's the same age as Sage. We sat outside , talked, laughed, enjoyed each other's company, I held Luke, and could not stop cuddling, kissing him, never being an auntie before, I'm in complete LOVE! Oh yeah he's 9 weeks, and he smiled at auntie!! No I was not the only witness!!
Sunday there really was nothing to do at the house, we move really fast, one new neighbor came over, she was shocked that we had not a box in sight! Not boasting, just saying! We took the kids to breakfast, then a walk on the beach.
Camarillo you will always be so special to us, we will never forget our friends, neighbors, acquaintances. This move is another chapter in our lives, adventure, hopefully our last move! I think we found where we would like to settle......
John and 3 of the kids to the left
Sadie is my special girl who finds beauty in almost anything, she takes her time, examining every rock, shell, so we lingered behind.

Off to the store no milk, cereal, eggs, lunch stuff, back in Camarillo we are finishing up our duties here, school, finishing packing, cleaning up the house. God bless this day and every! Shirley
