What we've been up to

Through [Jesus] also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. —Romans 5:2

What we've been up to.....A lot of cozy family time! Yummy meals, coffee, books, homework, life:)
Sage has volleyball indoor and beach, so this keeps me in the driver seat most of the week.  Her first tournament
Sadie had a science day at school, and her teacher let me bring Chloe! She was in heaven, getting all the attention from Sadie's classmates
The girls at Sisters volleyball game, they look very interested don't they???
Love this shot of my man, we do have amazing view
Wanted to give a shout out to thee best son out there! Little John is such a caring, sweet person, I drove Sage to her volleyball practice and when I returned the whole kitchen was spotless!!
I've been laying low these day's fighting a lingering cold, but life goes on for a mother, still have to do what I have to do! Hope all is well with you, blessings Shirley

Turquoise Book case

Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve . . . . But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. —Joshua 24:15

Sadie and Chloe needed a bookshelf. Both girls love reading, and many of their books were scattered in their closet, my night stand, downstairs.....
I really have a hard time buying anything new, most times I feel like hey I can make that! So last week I drove past a thrift store, right outside I spotted a well built bookcase. It had a price tag of $35.00, but it was my lucky day it was Tuesday when everything is 30% off!
I pulled off the back, went to Lowes and bought a huge roll of textured wall paper for $18, I glued it down to the back of the bookcase, then painted it turquoise.
To give the bookcase a old-world finish I used three different paint, (turquoise, white, black) once it dried I applied a ebony stain over it.
The girls love their "new" bookcase"

Up super early this A.M. going to start my day:) Love, Shirley

I've said before how no two days are alike, some you want to bottle up, their so good, everything goes right. Others not so much you can't wait till your head hits the pillow. I often ask God, let all my day's be good, but I know that's not the way life is. There is a scripture that has been speaking to me lately
"In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." —John 16:33
I finally feel settled again after the holidays.
Reason to celebrate my son, got a job yesterday and he starts tonight!! So proud of him, we went to a Mediterranean Restaurant to celebrate, hence Sadie and Coco doing belly dancing!
Chloe and her new Buddy, on a play date
This year it's my goal to get outside more, I feel at times trapped in the house with so much to do daily.
 Find new adventures
 Let the kids explore

 Sage getting a Henna tattoo
Finally the warm weather came back! I was staring to feel a little blue, cabin fever, whatever you want to call it, but once the sun came back off to the beach we went
I'm fully addicted to Karen Kingsbury's books
Aunties missing this little guy, NEED TO SEE HIM SOON:)
I've been on the hunt for a book shelf for the girls room, I was going to bite the bullet and actually buy one at full retail.... But on my way past a thrift store low and behold there she was, all she needs is a little love! While Chloe's at school I'm working on her, I'm thinking of lining the back with wall paper!!!
Glad to be home, glad to be healthy, Love you all, Shirley

God's growing more love in my heart!

"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. Psalms 91:14

This what I woke to! I turned 33 today January 15th... Little John headed up mommas breakfast in bed.
And fighting harder than ever to turn back time:)) A vege smoothie

A huge thanks you to all who have made my day great so far. I really do feel loved
Sadie had a eye appointment today. The doctor showed up 25 minutes late (no surprise) But I had to get the big kids from school, so I asked if he could hurry!!!! HE said yes, Sadie hopped into the chair, the doctor started to makes funny jokes to her, she was all smiles, then abruptly her face changed and she looked extremely worried! I asked Sadie what's wrong?? She said I think I'm going to throw up! So I rushed her to the bathroom, where she curled into a ball her tummy was hurting her so bad tears streamed down her face. We rescheduled and left. In the car she still was crying saying, :Momma a little girl my age's tummy should never hurt like this!" I prayed with her that God would heal her, within 1 minute it all stopped! So strange... But a great faith builder for my little girl. When we got home she said, "momma I think I know why it was hurting, it was growing pains, God was growing more love into my heart!!! Ohh love these moments, especially on my birthday, woke to breakfast in bed, then hit the ground running, cleaning, drop-offs, groceries, bills to pay, laundry to fold, kids to pick up. Phew a mommas work never stops! Love you all, Shirley

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jerm:29:11

We've had a lot of down time here, loving reading, cooking, drinking way to much coffee:) I'm completely in love with Karen Kingbury's books!! I went to the library Tuesday and by Wednesday evening I finished.. So off to the book store to get another one cause the rest were all checked out! A lady stopped me the other day while I had one of the books in my hands, and said, "Oh I love her books, but nothing gets done around the house once I start one!" Kinda true.........
John bought us a Vitamix, we burned through 3 Ninja's no exaggeration! Thankfully the place we bought the Ninja from has a really amazing return policy. But let me tell you the Vitamix is no joke! I love it.
The kids are loving the receipt book it came with so many yummy recipes in it, I've been trying a new one almost nightly. First one was the Bacon, Cheddar , potato soup

Then the bread crusted mac, and cheese, both turned out great

OK time to workout, then go about my day, Love you, Shirley

Recommended read

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3
Good morning, ugh been up since 1:30 A.M. Can't sleep, so I got online and finally had my blog made into a book! Bad news it was so huge that I had to break it up into years:) all my wonderful picture taking... Thanks Audra for the final push I needed to get inspired to finally do this. I'm going to be hating today, hopefully not but I'm feeling the exhaustion you know those night where your mind won't shut off until you search for that paper, or knock thing off your to do list, well that was my night! Any way I just finished reading the trilogy series from Waiting For Morning, Moment of Weakness, and finally Halfway to Forever. I can't tell you how blessed I was by these books, they speak of Gods mercies, how no matter what we face in this life His plans are not ours. And all thing do work together for good, even if we can't see it now, someday we will. Little John is in the middle of Moment of Weakness, I thought he should read it, it's very relevant to where he is right now as a young man. Please go buy these book, or rent them from the library you will be blessed!

All things work together for good!

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. Gen 50:20

Wow it's been forever, hasn't it?? I've been taking care of business this time of year I like to go over all my insurances, bill's and condense as much as possible. I've had some tribal business to take care of as well. It's requiring that I stay close to home:) Which I don't mind at all, Like the scripture says what others meant for evil God means for good!
Chloe had a play at her pre-school, and I was so blessed that my Grandmother Joanna, got to see. She silently wept during the whole play. She was touched with the little kids singing Christmas songs.

So much time to read, I devoured Karen Kingsbury's book Waiting for Morning, in two day's and now on to A Moment of Weakness, also finishing a long chapter book with all three girls as well. I wanted to accomplish this during our down time! God is good, like I stated what others may want for evil in our lives God will always turn it into good. All things work together for good to those who love God!! Love you all, and will be blogging more frequently, I truly miss it, I was telling a friend I think I'm doing it for my self, but then family members, comment, hey no blog lately?? Then my kids say mom why aren't you blogging?? I then realize it's for us all, I'm just the memory keeper... Shirley
