Fast road trip

I will never forget Your precepts, for by them You have given me life. —Psalm 119:93
The girls and I went on a whirlwind trip to Camarillo yesterday, waking super early, and hitting the road for the 21/2 hour trip. Not to brag but my kiddies are professional travelers, we've been going on long road trips to Bishop since they were very little. So a couple hours in the car are not really a big deal, for us. I tried to visit as many as I could in 6 hours, no easy feat.
Sadie with Luke
Put anything near his mouth and he thinks its food! Chunks
After Sage's Ortho App. I met up with Julianna, awe cutest pregnant momma ever! Only 5 weeks to go. Loved spending time with her, made me re-think my whole move, visiting with the sweetest, best girl friends a girl could ask for.
The kids were in Heaven with all their buddies, Grace, Kristen, Hanna, Hunter, Avery, Roman, and a few more, it felt like they never left! I must say Lynda R. The way God uses you to open your home, your talent's, your love to us, will always be appreciated, you've been like a big sister to me, a huge thanks. Lynda let us land on her, she cooked an amazing dinner, then gave the little girls baths, changed them into their PJ's for our long trip home!
 Grace, Sadie, Kristen
The crew, they hid behind some bushes cause they didn't want to leave!
 Big kids hanging

 Sage and Hanna
 Avery and Sage
Jim has been catching, and canning Salmon lately, it's so great for you and super tasty!!
Such a random post today, but it's my life, Look while I'm typing who came into our front yard, Haha
Kim, and Theresa so bummed I didn't get to visit, miss you both, next time for sure! Back to the grind today, DMV, ballet, and Sage's first volleyball game! Then tomorrow is little John's Home-coming game, can't wait, I do admit I have a bit of a completive spirit, I can't sit still, I'm one of the parents, on the sidelines, hands in the air. Today at the volleyball game, I actually was making the moves, I had to catch myself and STOP IT, before Sage saw me! Love to all, Shirley

Good read's

Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Prov:30:31

If your looking for a book to read, I just finished Bethanny Frankel's book called A Place of Yes. I highly recommend it, for all my friends who are mothers, at times we wonder, "Wow really, is this all I'm here for wiping butts, cleaning, cooking, chauffeuring kids around???" A Place of Yes is about not giving up on those dreams, you had, or have, but living in the now, and whatever your doing do with all your heart, because one day those minuet task's may be preparing you for a big task! Bethanny has 10 rules to follow, here they are:

1. Break the chain. Your past happened, and it’s part of you, but you don’t have to carry forward the bad habits, bad feelings, and ideas about who you are from that part of your life.

2. Find your truth. Only you can know who you want to be, what you want out of life, and what the right path for you could be.

3. Act on it. You make things happen. Don’t wait for someone else to make them happen for you.

4. Everything’s your business. You never know what could become your next big break. Do everything to the best of your ability, give every job your all, and treat everything like it’s your business.

5. All roads lead to Rome. You won’t always know what’s over the horizon, but you will get somewhere good if you stay focused on what you want.

6. Go for yours. You have to get what you want before you can have the inner resources to give to others. Clarify your goals and then go for them.

7. Separate from the pack. To find your calling or succeed in the path you’ve chosen, sometimes you have to step out of the crowd and remember who you are.

8. Own it. Keep your word, act on your beliefs, and whether you regret something or not, always own up to it.

9. Come together. When all is said and done, life is about connection. Come together with others.

10. Celebrate! Life is precious. Love is precious. Celebrate the many good things you have instead of focusing on the worries, and you’ll find success, inner calm, and happiness at last.
Now of course Bethenny is coming from a "worldly" place of yes, I took what I needed from her, and now I'm reading A woman after God's Own Heart, and let me tell you the first chapter, I had to get my highlighter out so much great advice as a women to a women, this book is already speaking to my heart!
Here are some tid bits, from the book:
-jumpstart your day through God’s Word and prayer
- trust the Lord in every circumstance
- enjoy a daily harvest of the fruit of the Spirit
- experience the joy of serving God and others
- make every day count by setting and meeting goals
- love their families and model Christlikeness
- use their influence to motivate others

My home town has been hit hard recently with three deaths in a matter of day's, all Native people, Prayers are needed, through this difficult time, hold your loved ones near, let them know how much you love them, life is so short, all we have is today! Shirley

Great times

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. Ecclesiastes 3:11
IKEA field trip!! Rachel's first time, like they say nothing like the first time! She loved it, only down side, we literally had only 20 minutes to brows the whole store, not enough time, it should be half a day there, I love this place.
Needless to say, I found a few great things, towels, euro pillows, a lamp, all for $80.00!
Of course in the middle of my marathon shopping, my shoe broke! A strap that held it all together came undone! I was limping throughout the rest of the time!
Rach and I quickly ran over to Johnny and Rachel's to love Lukey up real quick! He is officially fond of aunties now, no more tears! Just smiles, awe we are a little obsessed with this little fellow, he melts our hearts!

 My little brother,
We traveled to Bubb's away game Friday, oh man it was such a great game, Rachel and I pretty much lost our voice, and any ounce of dignity at the game, we were jumping up, screaming, we had to stop and laugh at each other!
Of course the "Happy Nappers come every where with us!" All right off to church then beach all day, love ya, Shirley

A mothers job

He gives the childless woman a family, making her a happy mother. Praise the LORD! Psalms 113:9

Good morning, phew after yesterday's fiasco (Johns car wreck) things are back on track. Kids are off to school, Chloe's going as well:)) So Rachel and I have 3 hours to our self's! We may rush to see our baby (Luke), kiss our boy's chubby cheeks....
Lately my role as mommy has been ramped up, I wake and go non-stop, meals, drop-offs, pick-up's, snacks, homework, dinner, bath's, stories, then hit my head on my pillow! No time for projects of any kind, I'm not complaining, I absolutely love my job! And I'm determined to do my best. I've been so inspired of course by my own mother who mothered with all her heart, I remember how tired she would be at the end of the day. I laugh when there are debates between a working mother or stay at home mother. A mother is a mother, whether you go off for a few hours, all your "home work" is waiting right when you walk through the door, or if you stay home and do it all day long! Honestly when I used to work outside of the house, I loved to get up in the morning, put on a cute outfit, stop for coffee, and "socialize" with other adults. Now that life seems so glamorous, but like Chelsea Cameron said, "You can be a rocket scientist later," this is the most important job you'll ever have!!! So true. All right time to get going, Love you, Shirley

Change of plans

In [Christ] we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. —Ephesians 3:12

Good morning, it's ben a little crazy over here lately, feels like I kinda should put my bed in the car, and a coffee maker!
Sadie's in Karate
Sage is doing Volleyball
Little John Football
Chloe Ballet/ pre-school
We have two new members of the Slee household, Chloe and Sadie have been begging, pleading, watching youtube tutorials, on Happy Nappers, I found a great deal on Amazon. They came in yesterday, I'm sure the neighbors got worried for us, the girls screamed so loud, they couldn't wait to hold their new pets)!
I've been feeling like I have not caught up on my sleep, so today I have nothing on the books:) So I told Chloe guess what tomorrow we are going to relax, watch movies, go to the park, have fun!Soo I'm laying in bed and I get a nudge on my arm at 5A.M, Little John is standing there with the phone to his ear, "Mom, Dad got in a bad wreck!!" So I get on the phone, John says he's OK, but shook up, a airport shuttle bus, slammed into the back of his car, the driver was having a heart attack! He needed me to come pick him up at the body shop. Wow, crazy how we never know how our day might go, God has different plans than ours. I quickly got up, made lunches, and squeezed into morning traffic! Thank God Rachel is here with us, she did the morning drop off.'s. John is fine, he of course missed his flight to Canada, but we got to spend a little time together at breakfast. So now I'm going to take Chloe on a run, even thought I really would love to climb back into bed! gotta get on with it, Shirley

Power to enjoy

Everyone also to whom God has given wealth and possessions and power to enjoy them, and to accept his lot and rejoice in his toil—this is the gift of God.

In the Bible it talks about how God gives us the power to enjoy, well we had the power this weekend! My parents came down with my two sisters. We enjoyed every moment, laughing, loving, nothing beats family time. Here is Papa with the three youngest grandkids, Coco, Luke, and Sadie. (Luke testing out his cousins hair)
Us Hess girls
My, My, what a spectacular beach day! I didn't bring my camera, I wanted to be in the moment all day! Johnny brought baby Luke, we kept him safe in the shade, he loved being there with us, he was so entertained, with all the action! Papa boogie boarded, so did Rachel, and Jenny, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! Then beach volley ball on a home made court! Oh man that was a blast!
Friday Little John had another Home game, we all went to support him, they won, and he played great! So blessed. Chloe eating up her time with her aunties, when the National Anthem played she wrapped her arms around both of them, Ohh it melted my heart
 Go #5!!!
Sadie making everyone laugh with her dance moves
Football pancake breakfast, with the grandparents, times like this I so wish my parents lived right next door.
 a serious game of checkers
Then Sunday Papa, Johnny, and little J, Sage all went to a Chargers game, Big John flew off to Canada, So grandma, Jenny and I took the little girls to Balboa Park, um amazing! I love that place. We missed church, so grandma made sure the girls had a Sunday School class.

The Natural History Museum, had a exhibit on Horses, I highly recommend it, so great

I love our Country
We then all re-grouped downtown, for some gourmet burgers.
And my beautiful sis-n-law Rachel and baby Luke, always the guest of honor!
Have a blessed day, Shirley

For Real???

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? —1 Corinthians 3:16

I've been up since 4 A.M, went to bed at 1A.M, you do the math, I'm tired!!!
Little John's school was featured on NBC, this morning, for a pep rally, all football players had to be at the school at 4:45, crazzyyy. I got home and quickly recorded the segment, at 5:00, all of a sudden I hear little feet coming down the stairs, Chloe and Sadie, couldn't "feel" momma n bed so came looking for me! Anyways, I prayed with bubba asking that he would have a special day, and that great things would happen for him, he's had a hard time moving from his friends. So sipping my coffee trying to wake up, low and behold, there is the newscaster, sitting in the bleachers, guess who out of 6oo  students, is sitting right next to her!!!!! Little John! The little girls were squealing, momma started crying, yes a crazy, exciting day at the Slee house!
I've already took bubba to school, came home, cleaned, packed lunches, ran to John's school to give him things he left, then ran Sage to school, came home, rode bikes with Sadie to her school, washed my car, all running on 3 hours of sleep. By 12, I should be a wreck! Prayers needed today for sure! Expecting all my family today, it's been a long time since they have came, and all us 5 kids have been together, can't wait! Lot's of explanation points, I know...... Blessings today, Shirley

Coco's first day

Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God. —3 John 1:11

Snif, snif!! My baby is gone from momma for 3 hours! After I dropped her off I was driving home with my bottom lip pushed out, till I realized it, then put it back! I've got a few hours to myself, haven't had this in a long time. I'm gonna clean the house, workout and make two new pillows! Chloe was more than ready to go, she went right in and didn't even turn around!
filling up her back pack with her supplies
Last night I got to spend a few hours with my nephew Luke, I loved every bit of it, he is such a sweet, happy, baby. Every time I leave him my arms feel empty!
OK not going to waste this precious time on the internet! Time to get going, Shirley
