Can't sleep!

I've been up since 2 A.M!! We got the kids to bed nice and early, since today they all will be going to school. But at 2, I woke with a urge to pray for one of my siblings. So I did. Then after I couldn't go back to sleep, so here I am blogging! Don't know why God is doing this, I had the same thing happen last week, early in the morning I woke with the urge to pray for a dear friend. God knows all things......

I took the girls for one last beach day!! Probably not, since September is such great, hot weather, but before school starts anyways. They soaked up every second!! We then came home and made pizzas with our sweet friends, Cruz and Bianca forgot to take any photo's! This life is whizzing by!Well since I'm up this early better be productive, get my workout done, make lunches.... God bless today and everyday, Shirley

Last days of summer!!!

Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching. Prov. 1:8

Look who's in high school now!!!
Can't believe lil Johns in high school, I asked him on the way to school this morning, if I could just take him to pre-school and start all over again!!
While I was at the baby shower on Saturday John and the little girls made these duct tape wallet's! They did a great job!
Sunday we had friends over for one last hurrah! Swimming, eating, and of course smores!

 Chloe and her marshmallows!!
Finally got the girls pillows, their room is coming together, still looking for the perfect rug, and a few cute accessories.

Yesterday morning I took the kids to Rolling Pin Donuts, I had a donut, first one in I don't know how long, it was divine!!!!
My two oldest taller than I!!
Sadie had a little preview of her kindergarten, she was showing off a little at the play ground pushing Chloe, leading her baby sister around, explaining to Chloe that she was NOT old enough to start school with her!
Sage and Sadie start school tomorrow, so going to do something special with them, maybe Malibu?? Alright God bless, Shirley

Girls night out/ Dia's baby shower

A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold. Proverbs 22:1

I had so much fun last night!! I went to my sweet friend Dia's baby shower, this will be her 3rd, hosted by our sweet friend Alisha. It couldn't of turned out any better, the friends, food, fellowship, was just magical! Alisha is a  gourmet cook, crackers with goat cheese and salami, main dish fish tacos, that were so yummy I tried to be a lady having only one, but ended going back for thirds!!. Then for what I was waiting for the dessert was over the top!! Three flavors of home made ice cream's, spicy fig, chocolate chip cookie dough, and coffee bean chip!!! Let me tell you it was the BEST!! Plus a lime pie, home made cookies, Alisha out did herself!!! We all were encouraging her to start a food blog!!
Group shot
 The guest of honor, Dia
The hostest with the mostest!! Alisha

Alisha explaining the ice cream flavors!!
 Beautiful Kim
Trying to be the proper women that I am, I only took what I could eat!!!! The girls were laughing at my dessert plate, it was piled soo high.
Thanks Alisha the party was so intimate, delicious, and most of all blessed!!!
The night was still young, so Kim invited Julianna and I back to her pad, for tea. We laughed, till it hurt, Kim and I are painfully shy about dancing, and Juls is a pro, so she made us play Just Dance on the wee,   We embarrassed ourselves made it through two songs, then called it good!! Thanks girls love you both and had a blast!!
Have a blessed day, Shirley

Four eyes are better than two/ and design

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. Isaiah 54:17

I'm completely in love with this fabric by larsenfabrics , I want a pillow in every one!!
Flipping through House Beautiful I came across a home in San Francisco, designed by Interior Designer Ken Fulk. I love his designs!! So much texture, layering in his designs!!
Don't know If I'd be brave enough to do my stairs in full Zebra, but I can appreciate it!
This is one of my favorite kitchens, super white, simple, clean, and ohh sooo beautiful!
One day I'm going to have barn sliding doors, their so cool, I love the look of the exposed hardware...

Little John has been getting headaches for over a year now, about once a month. Their so bad that he has to lay down, and rest till it passes. So this week I took him to his physical, they had him read the eye chart!! The doctor couldn't believe how bad his vision was! And the first question was..... Does he get headaches?? Yep! So off to the eye doctor we went, he was fitted for contacts and glasses! On the way home he was sooo excited to see things clearly!
When it was time for his appointment I said come on four eyes, and he quickly grabbed my camera and said look who's talking!! Oops
Trying out his contacts!!
Well this week was probably one of my hardest, I had anywhere from 2-5 clients a day!! That's huge for me, I work out of the house, so I'm still mommy, as well as stylist at the same time! John was gone all week on business, so I was flying solo. Thank God he's home now!! I felt a weight lift, when he got home, I truly feel for single parents, such a tough job alone!

Kellys Korner baby shower ideas!!

Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him. Psalms 127:3
Hello it's Kelly's Korner Blog time!! She asks for baby shower ideas, so here we go.....
I've only thrown 1!! But I've had four!! So I think I know a little on this subject!! I've liked to wait till the baby can be the guest of honor!
For Kim's shower, I wanted the night to feel soft, and romantic. I lit all the candles, had the fire place going, music, and a slide show of the guest of honor's family on the computer the whole time. We set up outside with plenty of tables, yummy food, heaters. Then after dinner we came inside for dessert and gift's! We had a few dessert options, tea, coffee.

John and I made a bunch of driftwood candle holders, and gave them away to guests.
Menu Mexican food! (Kim's request)!
 Kim with her slide show

Random (can't think of a title)!

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20

Good morning, Sage had her 7th grade orientation yesterday, she was so excited, also a little nervous. Seeing her like this brought back memories of my first days back to school! I always had butterflies. Here she is signing her books
After her orientation I took her out to Shusi, and more last minute school supplies, hair products. We finally got home, the kids and I swam, then had dinner, we made an end of summer cake they all blew out the candles!!
Short post today need to make waffles, and take little John to his high school orientation, then a church Lady's get-together potluck. Should be fun talk soon, Shirley
