Hello it's been soo long since I've posted, alot has happened. Starting with a new school year beginning for John and Sage. John went back to public school, while Sage has continued with home school. They seem very happy, getting good grades, next year Sage will be going to Junior high she'll be in sixth grade and lil John will be in eighth, it will be a chance for them to be together while in Junior high! Sage is excited lil John not so much! I have completed writing my book Text-tionary, just waiting on the illustrations to be completed, then it will be off to a literary agent who presents it to the publisher! Scary... I'm just hoping it will get picked up to be published and sold. I'll give more details on the book once it has been published. We have put the house on the market, and within a week we received 5 offers, we took the most secure one. We will have almost three months to move, since it is a short sale escrow is a lot slower. We will be staying here in Camarillo, we have all fallen in love with this area, close to the beach, L.A. Just wish family were closer! Rachel and I will be demonstrating basket weaving starting in January at the Aurty Museum in L.A. Should be a blast, we always have so much fun together. Johns job is going really well, he is helping with the growth, the company has really took off you should notice it around every where mini markets, grocery stores, airports. My folks are in Washington finishing the house up, it is really something! Also Johnny got married to a beautiful girl Rachel, they are in Sand Diego, doing very well, the family and I are so excited to have another Rachel Hess in the family!! Thanks for reading my blog it's a good way to tell what's happening in our lives at the moment, someday the kids will appreciated it as well, love Shirley

Summer Time

Saying Goodbye to Grandparents( on their way to Wa.)

Moms Kitchen before After

Cousins swimming at my moms & Dads

Summer has been soo great so far, many beach trips, day trips, hanging around at home, baking, house projects, visiting with friends. The kids and I went to Bishop for a week, I refinished my moms kitchen cabinets, here's a picture of before and after. The kids had a blast swimming in the pool, then warming up in the sauna. On Tuesday we had over eleven cousins, swimming, the kids had a lot of fun, I on the other hand worked morning till night four days solid on the kitchen. After seeing just how much work it really was my dad helped me finish up, then momma came in to help with the hardware, in the end all the hard work was totally worth it! We went to Bishop with five of us and only returned with four! Sage went to Hoopa, Ca a twelve hour drive with Stan and Myriah, and Lidia, to a church camp meeting. After begging John and I four days straight, we finally gave in and decided it would be fun for her, after two days she called to say she was sooo home sick! Poor lil girl, I was up late thinking maybe we should fly there to get her, but by morning she was fine, we all miss her so much can't wait until Monday to see her! I'm happy to be home we have brought back our dog Sven who had been living in Bishop for some time now, he is happy to be out of the heat, and loves all the attention from the kids, we are very happy to have him home. My folks left for Washington while we were there, when saying goodbye Sadie looks up to my Mom & Dad and says "will you remember me" Grandpa quickly picked her up to reassure her that they could never forget their princess! My parents goal is to complete their home that they have been building, for about two years now, it has been a lot of work, since they have pretty much done most of the work themselves, but now they must hire some help to complete it, I'll post some pictures soon of the house, it's really beautiful. Well a few more fun trips planned Palm Springs, Washington, keep you posted.

Brenda and Boys visit

Sharing our motherhood together, is something that Brenda Kiddoo and I have been doing for twelve years now, she is truly one of the best mothers out there and has been an amazing friend to me. We were glad to have her and her two sweet boys visit for four days, we went to the beach, hung out at the house and enjoyed the company. So the picture with all the kids yes that is a RAT, a week before Brenda and the kids came I was upstairs nursing Chloe when on her balcony I thought I saw a rat run past, so I mentioned it to John when he came home so off to the hardware store he went and returned with traps, poison, he set it all up on the balcony. The next morning lil John said the rat is in the trap alive, it was a sticky trap, so lil John tryed to squeeze it to death, but it ran away without it's tail! So knowing that ratzilla was out there somewhere with no tail we were cautious! Then when Brenda and the boys came, we kept hearing noises in lil Johns room, Brenda and I were enjoying our breakfast talking when I saw the rat peek out from under the couch, well this made Brenda jump into action she had me flipping over the couch in no time, all the kids were screaming, the rat ran out from under the couch to the coat rack then back, all the while we were trying to catch him, finally Brenda had him trapped and with my 10 pound weight she pinned the poor little fellow and one lethal blow killed little Pipito(Brenda you get that)?? And guess what he had no tail!!!

Entertaining this is going to be a crazy, fun weekend, we will be hosting nine family members here at our home!!!! We love when family comes to visit, we will be going to Santa Barbara for the fourth, setting up on the beach, packing a picnic! All is going good this is turning out to be a great summer for the kids, school will be starting in August lil John will be returning to public school he missed the social aspect of school, locker, girls, lunch, so with my blessing he'll return. I'll miss him so much, Sage on the other hand is leaning towards ho0me school again this year. I hope she chooses to home school, her being home gives her much more time for the piano, horse riding and acting, all of which she loves right now. So we'll see...

Family hike (sunday)

Hello, today we packed a picnic and all went hiking in the hill close to our home. Linda and her two girls went along for the fun, we had a great day hiking. The ultimate goal was to reach the water fall and jump in, when we reached it the kids instantly stripped down and jumped in! The water was bearable, we went last December and the water was sooooo cold, but today the weather was around 80, so it was perfect. Although the water smelled a little like a swamp, it was great. There were some young boys jumping off of a huge cliff there, (very dangerous), but I could see John and lil John itching to take the plunge as well. So within a thirty minutes they asked my permission to jump, I gave it and they JUMPED, lil John loved it he was ready to go again, but we said no once was plenty! Any way hope you all had a great weekend, Shirley

Fathers day

Well today is Fathers Day, a very special day to honor fathers. I was sitting here thinking about all the little kids who do not have fathers, praying that God would comfort their little hearts, and for those of us who do that we would show our dads how much they mean to us! I have been blessed to have one of the most awesome dads that anyone could ever ask for, ever since I can remember my dad has been there for me no matter what, cheering me on in life always encouraging me, always saying how proud he is of me. My father has taught me so many valuable lessons in life, but the best lesson was how to love. James Hess you are one of the best, most loving, positive people I know, I love you, Mitzy

New Beginings

Hello friends and family, this is my first post, I'm excited to share our lives with you, this year has had it's up and downs, John lost his job with Naked Juice. This had a huge impact on all of us, making us rethink about the path we were heading on, realizing that God is in control of our lives not us. John was pretty devastated at first, wanting to provide for his family, he took a construction job doing demolition on a huge home near us. Construction brought John back to his roots, he really enjoyed the satisfaction that hard manual labor brought. Keeping us afloat for two months, this job was a God send. The end of May one of Johns old bosses from Naked Juice called with a job opportunity, a small start up juice company called O.N.E coconut water, he offered him the regional director position for all of California! We were all so thrilled, this new job offers more pay than Naked Juice, bigger bonus, as well as a car allowance! We thank God for all of you who prayed for us, thank you. To celebrate this new endeavour we took the kids to Miami Fl. for seven days, and enjoyed the beautiful Atlantic ocean. Now summer is upon us we look forward to many beach days, trips to Bishop, Washington, and enjoying our local beaches.... beginings
